huck pac - vertical day today - huckabee talks issues

July 23rd, 2008

as many of you know, i supported mike huckabee for president during the primaries.

huck pac

he has since started huck pac, a site devoted to trying to bring the issues forward in this campaign.
some of the topics he would like america to discuss on what he is calling "vertical day" are...

vertical day by mike huckabee

• how would you control spending in washington?

• how would you make america energy independent?

• what would you do to improve our education system?

• what would you do to improve our health care system?

• what sort of tax reform do you think america needs to boost our economy?

• what steps would you take to promote conservation and good stewardship of the environment?

my own thoughts are i think we should get energy independent as quick as we can by whatever means we as a great country have. the ideas are here. the people are here. get government out of the way and let's get america on the problem.

so let's start chatting and please do go visit the huck pac site and help mike huckabee discuss our country's issues. who else wants to help get this word out?

huckabee banner gone…oy

April 18th, 2008

yeah, i finally brought myself to take down the mike huckabee for president banner.

i did get the special opportunity, along with my wife ruthie to meet mike on the day of the texas primary, march 4th.

i got an email from jim edwards, who i had been working with and jim was really involved in the huckabee campaign. the email said that i was invited to meet with mike at his office with some other campaign volunteers because mike wanted to personally thank the volunteers.

i called ruthie and rushed over there as fast as i could. ruthie had just arrived in cedar hill for work, but her boss told her to leave and go see mike (he was a mike supporter too) so she arrived right about when i did. huck arrived, said a few words and then went around the room and spent a few moments with just about all of the 100 or so people there.

we were on the way that night to go see him again in irving when we heard his concession speech on the radio. we went there anyways, but he had already left and we talked for a short bit with jim edwards before we left.

i'll look to see mike again on the national stage.

huckabee still holding faith and voters

February 17th, 2008

mike huckabee from the latimes.comlong after most pundits and others have written off mike huckabee's campaign for president, the man still holds solidly in the race.

the odds are very long that huck is going to be the nominee. the press, mccain's campaign and the party has done a great job of trying to make it seem like the race is over and mccain is already the nominee.

guess what? mike huckabee and ron paul are still in this race and it is not over till the fat lady sings, or someone gets 1191 delegates. that has not happened.

who knows what could happen in the period between now and that happening. i'm not giving up on huckabee and huckabee is not giving up either.

he's on the way to texas and ruthie, jon and i plan on going wed. night to collin county community college at 7:30pm to hear huckabee speak.

this race is not over yet. look at the math and conclude that it's over. history is full of cocky people saying they have won when they really did not. look at this past super bowl. look at the election in venezuela where that idiot chavez tried to have himself declared dictator.

just wait.

new blog for mike huckabee started

January 19th, 2008

well, it seems i have gotten somewhat involved in the mike huckabee movement a bit.

i have been going to these meetup.com meetings with ruthie about the presidential candidate mike huckabee up in plano (collin county). you see, someone organizes what is called a meetup group and then people that have that in common can get together offline and exchange ideas and so forth. they have them for all sorts of things like, web design, php, american idol, homer simpson and whatever else the american public can come up with.

anyways...the guy that organized the mike huckabee collin county meetup group bailed out quite unexpectedly right before our last meeting.

a nice man named jim edwards offered to take over and i agreed to help him get technical with the meetup group and deal with the online aspects of this group.

after much back and forth trying to get ahold of the past organizer, i finally did and got the group working again.

jim and i are starting a new and unusual blog in the next few days about bbq and mike huckabee. yes, bbq.

see, the celeb, chuck norris has endorsed mike huckabee for president and this coming sunday, jan. 20th on chuck's ranch in navasota, texas they are having a $1,000 a plate bbq. so im sent out a notice to all the members about this event.

i digress...jim had this idea to create a site based on the idea of "bbqer's for huckabee", figuring that people like bbq and people like mike huckabee. so i got a new domain name www.1001bbqloversforhuckabee.com and that's where this new blog will live!

nothing there yet, but the start of a wordpress blog and a template. check back, jim's going to be writing up a storm there.

huckabee wins iowa!

January 3rd, 2008

wow, he really won the iowa caucus.

that was great, now new hampshire might not be so easy. i do applaud his decision to not air the negative ads against romney. it would have been a mistake.

he was great on jay leno the night before too.
