the answer to that old question "so how did you propose to your wife anyways?"

on july 4th, 2004 we went on a wonderful and romantic 7-day cruise aboard the 'rhapsody of the seas" on the royal caribbean cruise line (a great ship!). on thursday, july 8th we went to the formal dinner in the main dining room. rooty jr. was holding a red rose.

i had arranged ahead with a few crew members and got the ship's video guy to meet me there. in front of hundreds of fellow passengers i got down on one knee and asked my darling to marry me and spend the rest of her life with me "and she said yes".

i got the whole thing on video and when we got home we tricked family members into watching a "cruise video" and that was how we let them know that we were engaged.

the trip was one we shall remember forever. it was a total escape from the day to day world and i know we will be going on another cruise again as soon as we can. there are lots of pictures of the cruise located off of the "themes" page.

the wedding...

then on october 10, 2004 we got married in the small chapel at tiferet israel. it was actually supposed to be in rooty jr.'s sister rosie's (rabbi yitzs' wife) backyard, but at the last minute the sky opened up and it rained and rosie changed everything from an outdoor wedding to an indoor wedding in the small chapel.

anyways, it was a lovely wedding and my bride was radiant in her gown as she walked down the aisle of the chapel. i think all that attended had a great time at the event. check out the "themes" page for photos.

the honeymoon...

for our honeymoon we flew to san francisco, ca, spent one night there and then woke up before dawn, parked ourselves on a ridge overlooking the golden gate bridge, the bay and the city (i took many pictures of course). after that we got in the car and headed up the california coast. we drove all the way through the oregon coast, part of washington state coast and then met my pal ed seidenberg for dinner near seattle.

after that we headed north and took a ferry over to the san juan island (friday harbor) in puget sound where a friend of rooty jr.'s had a cabin for us to stay in on their property on the north edge of the island overlooking canada. well, a great trip and there are also many photos also off the "themes" page for this.
